I posted a few of the textures over at the NineCollective blog and had a couple of requests for more from the shoot. I kept @ryankelley’s kids for a bit the other night and to offset the copious amount of sugar I was feeding them Peter Gill @buddyJesus and I ran them around the yard and let them explore the awesome spring Oklahoma evening. A few clicks of the camera during golden hour turned out at least one or two nice images. Though I’ve posted most of them. Hope you enjoy the photos! See the gallery below and the larger images in.

A variety of things of interest this week. I’ve been spending a lot of time lately doing CSS design on a mac and using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Parallels has been great platform for me to manage a virtual environment, the design tools, and the endless process of CSS tweaking. Two specific pieces of software have stood out during this project. Versions, a mac SVN client and CSSEdit a visual css editor. I still do much of my coding by hand, ability to immediately see the changes I’m making find the actual objects I’m stylin.

This tip comes courtesy of Mike Jones, @votemikejones and is totally worth it. I’m sure many of you are aware how to do this but it was new to me and a great tool. It’s a way to get everything in your project in one place and get rid of unneeded footage (similar to packaging in InDesign). My development in flash has been pretty limited. A set of new projects I’ve been working on have required me to delve farther into it. As I started building in new versions of action script. I discovered that it’s all changed. This post will describe how to take a flash movie you have designed and turn it into a single linkable object.
